2024-2025 RCISD Flex Days
RCISD offers five flex days throughout the year. November 25-26 and May 27, 28, and 29.
2024-2025 flex days are earned as follows:
Day 1 (6 hours) - Online SafeSchools Compliance Courses
Day 2 (6 hours) - New Requirement for Campus Staff - Online Campus Course - Released in July
Days 3 & 4 (12 hours) - Your Choice or Program Area Recommendations
Day 5 - Accrued in the fall by conducting parent conferences.
RCISD Focused-Planning Days
RCISD offers five focused-planning days throughout the school year. These days are strategically scheduled to give staff time to plan for the upcoming grading period. Staff will be provided with guidance and then given the time to plan with teams on the following dates:
September 23
October 14
January 6
February 17
March 24
New Teacher Learning
New teachers participate in the Bulldog Boot Camp during their first year and are assigned a mentor for two years. Mentors work closely with new staff to set goals, practice implementing effective structures and strategies, conduct peer observations across the district, and learn the culture of the campus and district.
Year two teachers continue to be mentored and receive training appropriate for a second-year educator. Mentors receive training throughout the year. All mentors have at least three years of teaching experience and have been proven leaders on their campuses.
Ongoing Professional Learning and Coaching
Personalized and differentiated training is offered throughout the year, both face-to-face and online, via MobileMind. Events are scheduled and advertised through the MobileMind hub. Teachers regularly work with content area coaches using the Student-Centered Coaching model.
