GROW YOUR OWN - RISE UP PROGRAM
RCISD offers a unique opportunity to non-certified staff, paraprofessionals, and recent Royse City College and Career Academy graduates who complete their Associate of Arts Degree in Teaching.
The IWU Bridge Program, paid for by RCISD, offers a Bachelor of Science Degree in Integrative Studies that prepares participants for a career in the classroom by combining local Royse City ISD training, Teachworthy CPE credits approved for college coursework, and 300 and 400-level IWU courses.
Professional learning courses are designed and provided by RCISD for up to 30 hours of college credit. Courses are offered in social-emotional learning, application of technology in learning, instructional practices, and foundations, as well as an individualized seminar course.
Online courses to complete an alternative certification program are provided by Teachworthy, a Capturing Kids’ Hearts partner. Included in this component is Capturing Kids’ Hearts Training provided through RCISD. After completion of the Teachworthy requirements, participants receive 10 college credit hours through IWU.
Certifications are available in multiple subjects and areas, and Teachworthy will work with each participant to ensure that the degree program contains the required coursework for the chosen certification.
