Five students led the school board and guests in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America and Texas. They were Samuel Anderson, Brylen Arney, Lucibelle Christensen, Emma Flores, Kayleigh Langley, Wyatt Mones and Titus To’afa. They represented MMV Elementary very well!

DISTRICT BIRTHDAY CARD ARTWORK HONOREES

Bria Bergmann, Briley Huttel, Elina Schlabach and Kinley Smith were surprised with this good news last week! Congratulations to these budding artists.

RCISD EDUCATION FOUNDATION ANNUAL UPDATE

The Royse City ISD Education Foundation is a non-profit organization of volunteer directors who work to generate donations to fund innovative programs across the district. Executive Director Kim Crumrine shared that the Foundation is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Since 2009, the Foundation has given more than $1.7 Million back to schools, teachers and district programs. This year alone, $180,000 was issued in 45 classroom grants, 53 mini grants for staff and 17 grants for 1st year teachers. Visit https://www.rcisdef.com/ to learn more about the activities of the Foundation and ways to get involved! Thank you to Mrs. Crumine and the directors for fueling innovation in Royse City ISD!

EXTERNAL FINANCIAL AUDIT REPORT APPROVED

For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, Royse City ISD received an unmodified opinion (the best you can receive) for financial statements. There were no findings or weaknesses reported in internal controls or federal internal controls. Despite passing a deficit budget for the 2023-2024 school year, the district added more than $2 million to the general fund balance. This allowed Royse City ISD to continue to provide raises to staff while anticipating enrollment growth to increase state funding.

WORTHY FATE HIGH SCHOOL GROUNDBREAKING - NOVEMBER 19

Royse City ISD will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 400 E FM 552 in Fate to celebrate the construction of Worthy Fate High School. The event will take place on a paved portion of the construction site on November 19 at 2:00 p.m. Guests should enter the site from FM 552 and not from N. King Road. WFHS will open in August of 2027 with Freshmen and Sophomore students. The boundary development for the new campus will begin next Fall to inform families well ahead of the school's opening.

ENROLLMENT UPDATE

On October 17, the enrollment stood at 10,022 total students and as of this meeting, the number stands at 10,029. Demographers anticipate that RCISD will add 800-1,000 students annually. Growth continues throughout the school year across our booming communities.

BOND 2023 UPDATE
Bond issuance is underway for many large projects in Bond 2023. Groundwork has begun at Worthy Fate High School off of FM 552 which is expected to open in August of 2027. Newly named Sara Moss Elementary has vertical steel beams in place as construction proceeds. The campus will open in August of 2025. Plans are also underway for David & Shirley Magness Middle School on FM 35 just south of Royse City High School. That campus will open in August of 2026.
