You may have seen that Royse City ISD recently celebrated the enrollment of our 10,000th student at Miss May Vernon Elementary. Overall, RCISD is ranked 12th in the DFW area for annual new home closings. Across our 77 square middle district boundary, there are 35 actively building subdivisions with 17 future more in the works. Demographers predict that RCISD will be home to 20,000 students ten years from now.
Thankfully, voters approved recent bond elections to allow the district to build new schools, buy land for future schools and complete school expansions.
RCISD’s 8th elementary campus is the next new campus to open in the district. Located in the Creekside development on SH 66, Sara Moss Elementary, will open in August of 2025. Each time a new campus opens, boundary zone adjustments are made to relieve overcrowding at existing schools. No adjustments are being made to middle or high school boundary maps at this time.
