Royse City ISD Athletics is excited to announce Andrew Colvin as the next Royse City High School Head Football Coach and Boys Athletic Coordinator. Coach Colvin joins us from neighboring Rockwall ISD, where he was under the leadership of Trey Brooks as the Offensive Coordinator (OC) for Rockwall Football for the past 3 seasons. Prior to Rockwall High, Colvin held OC positions at Tyler Legacy, Kemp, Molina, and had his start in his coaching career in Mesquite ISD. Under his tenure, Colvin has noted highlights such as creating cutting edge offenses ranking #1 in the DFW area numerous years in a row, averaging 50+ points per game as play caller, and numerous playoff appearances. Coach Colvin is also known for breaking a 23 game losing streak and recording the most wins in school history while in Molina, In addition, Colvin’s coaching track record includes his own personal achievement this past season where he was named a finalist for Dave Campbell’s Texas High School Football Offensive Coordinator of the Year.

Andrew and his wife Chelsea, alongside their three daughters, Hattie, Hazel, and Hannah are excited to begin investing in our student-athletes, district, and community. Colvin shares on the announcement that becoming the next Head Football Coach for Royse City High School is a dream come true. “Royse City is not only a great football job, but more importantly a great family job. RCISD prioritizes athletics and offers resources for its student-athletes to be successful. The administration has a vision that aligns with mine, and for all of these reasons Royse City is a gold mine of a job! I can’t wait to meet the kids and bring both them and the community the fastest, and most exciting brand of football!”.

Coach Colvin holds a history degree from Southwest Assemblies of God University, where he also was a member of the Lion Football team. Andrew replaces previous head coach, David Petroff, who was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in January and will start Tuesday, February 13th.
