The Royse City ISD School Board unanimously approved Dr. Amy Anderson as superintendent of schools at a 5:00 p.m. meeting on Monday, May 13, 2024. The Royse City High School College & Career Academy was packed with district staff, current and former colleagues and many friends and family of Dr. Anderson.
This approval follows the required 21-day waiting period required by the state. Board President Scott Muckensturm and fellow board members shared remarks on the occasion. Dr. Anderson is the first female superintendent in Rockwall County history.
Following the vote, Dr. Anderson shared, "It is an honor to lead Royse City ISD into the future. When I joined the district family two years ago, I was drawn to the culture. It is an honor to be trusted to grow our culture and our school district into the future. I am most excited to build a shared vision with our community on what Royse City ISD can be for students in the coming years."
