Join us in congratulating the 2023-2024 Royse City ISD Teachers of the Year! Each will represent our district at the regional level of the state teacher of the year contest. We wish them the best of luck and know that Royse City ISD will be well represented.
Angela Roberts - Elementary Teacher of the Year
With 30 years of teaching experience, and 20 years at W.R. Fort Elementary, Mrs. Roberts has built a legacy in education in this community. She shared that in her opinion, the best way to give back to the community is to prepare young minds to believe in themselves and motivate them to dream and work hard. She never gives up on herself or her students. Principal Wendy Prater shared that the culture of Fort Elementary was built by educators like Angela. We are better off by working with her and families and students are better off by her work in the classroom.
Angela Rouse - Secondary Teacher of the Year
A 9-12th grade Honors and Dual Credit Biology teacher with 21 years of experience. This is her 4th time to earn the title of campus teacher of the year! Her own grandmother played a part in her journey to teaching. In her classroom, students search for evidence, build memories, try new things, share good things and celebrate each other. She’s proud of the culture at Royse City High School and how teachers help each other with ease. Principal McMaster shared that Mrs. Rouse puts kids first. She makes science fun. She is an asset to RCHS, the RCCCA and the community of Royse City!
