The Collegeboard National Recognition Programs aim to celebrate the strong academic accomplishments of underrepresented students, providing them a platform to showcase their hard work and dedication throughout high school. These programs also benefit nonprofit colleges and scholarship providers by assisting them in identifying and recruiting talented students.
To be eligible, students must have maintained a GPA of at least 3.3 or 87% or higher, be ranked within the top 10% of PSAT test-takers in their state, or have earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP® Exams by the end of 10th grade. Eligible students can submit their applications during their sophomore or junior year and are recognized at the beginning of the following school year.
The five programs include the National African American Recognition Program, National Hispanic Recognition Program, National Indigenous Recognition Program, National Rural and Small Town Recognition Program, and new this year, the National First-Generation Recognition Program. These programs are open to high-achieving students from all 50 states and U.S. territories.
