Royse City, TX – The Royse City ISD Multilingual Department hosted the second annual district-wide Spanish Spelling Bee last week, showcasing the impressive language skills of students from Fort, Scott, Davis, and Herndon Elementary Schools.
Following a competitive round of spelling, the following students emerged victorious:
4th/5th Grade Division:
1st Place: Sol Antunez, Davis Elementary
2nd Place: Samir Abreu, Fort Elementary
3rd Place: Kendra Espana, Herndon Elementary
3rd Grade Division:
1st Place: Ariana Zapien, Davis Elementary
2nd Place: Kayla Valero, Herndon Elementary
3rd Place: Alexa Castillo, Scott Elementary
Sol Antunez and Ariana Zapien, the first-place winners in their respective divisions, will represent Royse City ISD at the upcoming Region 10 Spanish Spelling Bee Contest. The competition will be held on March 26, 2025, at the Spring Valley Conference Center in Richardson.
"We are incredibly proud of all the students who participated in the Spanish Spelling Bee," said Milly Colón, coordinator of the RCISD Spanish Spelling Bee. "Their dedication and hard work are a testament to their commitment to learning and their love of the Spanish language.
